A Trip to Yercaud – a picturesque Hill Station in South India

 

Yercaud is a tranquil hill station located near Salem, nestled in the Shevaroys mountain range in Tamil Nadu. Positioned at an elevation of 1515 meters (4969 feet) above sea level, Yercaud provides a rejuvenating retreat from the lowlands below.

The town is renowned for its breathtaking viewpoints, dense forests, and captivating waterfalls that dot the region.

One can delve into the abundant cultural legacy of Yercaud by visiting its historical temples, observing traditional festivals, and encountering the gracious hospitality of the residents.

Yercaud is home to renowned educational institutions.Montfort Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School was established in 1917 by Reverend Brother Eugene of the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel congregation, which was founded by Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort from Brittany, France. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort was canonized as a Saint in 1947.

When I was roaming near to Monfort school, I was very happy because My nephew Sam is studying in Monfort School and his parents are settled in UAE.

Since parent was not with me I could not meet him in his school. I definitely plan one day with my sister again Yercaud.
